Many webdesigners use Joomla to allow their clients to edit their website. I know from experience the client hasn't got the knowlegde to make a complicated layout. He/she doesn't know much about pixels etc.

If the developer wants to allow their clients to create pages with a custom layout, he has to create a custom component for that.

My proposal will be a component where the developer can define a template, and the client can fill it up

Images are automatically resized, so the client can't mess up the layout.

When I posted my idea on the Joomla forum there were already people interested in using it.

Quote from DeborahSuzan on the Joomla forum:

"It would be a very helpful implementation"

Jaap, this would be fantastic and many of my clients would value such a tool greatly. The Joomla backend is usually a little overwhelming for many CMS newbies. Are you thinking something along the lines of the Joomsuite / Joomcontent component in the core? see this discussion http://www.compassdesigns.net/joomla-blog/What-will-be-Joomla-1.5s-killer-app.html That would be so cool, apparently Drupal has something like this out of the box. We dont want to be left behind do we ;)

Hey Kim, yes I'm going to make something like that. I wasn't aware of those solutions, so thanks for the link! I'm going to take the best things from those solutions, add some idea's, and create the best solutution for Joomla :).
