My Idea explained

Hey everyone, I'll start explaining my idea.

It's a component wich allows you to do the following:

  1. Create a custom content type (content item with custom fields).
  2. Create a template (how the content type should be displayed).
  3. Create unlimited content-items, based on the custom content types.

Example:

Create content-type painting, with custom fields: name, artist, medium, date painted, image of painting. Then create a template. Now create a new content-item, and select as content type painting. A form is automatically generated, where you can enter the name, artist, date painted and upload an image of the painting.

To get some idea's how to exactly make this, I'm going to look at some of the existing solutions:

This would be a great addition to joomla! My "user point of view": - Maybe you can keep basic parameters (already in com_content) like created date, title, icons, category link, etc. and give a "tag" to each of them so we can add it to the template. - cck is great, but see also the basic way we can add custom fiels with wordpress (and add them to the template). The steps i can imagine for creating content with this component: 1) create a section/category 2) create a template item for category listing with few tags (title, date, icons, hits, first image...) 3) create a custom content fields item. 4) create a custom content template item, with the same tags for categories + tags for created fields. 5) create a menu item : option=com_cck&task=category&template=(default/ID)&id=(ID) for a category listing. option=com_cck&task=view&template=(ID)&id=(ID) for a custom content view. My two cents as user and not developer... Great project, good luck.
