A working version
Forms
Written by Mostafa Muhammad

Okay, This is exciting, After 2 month of work "yes I've started working before May 26th", It is finally here, a working version of the JForms component.

The component isn't yet stable/feature-complete/bug-free , but it has the most commonly used functions implemented, This version is an Alpha release and thus should never be used on production websites.

What features does it include?

You can read the previous posts to learn about the features, but there's one feature I didn't talk about , which is form vaildation, The component performs form validation on both client-side and server-side, you can test that feature by turning off Javascript.

How to get it?

I strongly recommend that you get the component by checking out the SVN, You can use the following installation package if you're not comfortable with SVN and would like to see where the project stands.

SVN:   http://joomlacode.org/svn/gsoc2008/JForms/trunk/
J! package   http://mosmar.com/com_jforms_0.2-Alpha_rev195.zip

I hope you like it.

If you encounter any bugs "very likely" , or if you have any suggestions , feedback, etc.. please let me know, I'll see if I can use the forge's bug tracker, but until then report anything here.

  1. Good for you! It's very easy to use with its clean interface and the code is really neat
  2. Very cool. Looks like its coming together nicely. Installed great for me.

    just some constructive criticism.
    * In the toolbar menu, when you hover over the different options (text, text area, list, etc.) maybe it would be helpful to highlight the choice.
    * Also the ability to put buttons or other elements in the same line would be great, at least the buttons...
    * a "delete all" button to clear the form might be helpful.

other then that, great stuff! cant wait to use the product.
