Last year I has introduced to Joomla by one teacher from my college, I already was an Open Source enthusiastic, which make me even more curious and exited about Joomla features. Ive stated studding how it works, and developing some small sites just for fun and created denVideo to enable to add videos and games into they, then I got the job to develop one of my college sites and some specific extensions for it. This year I've published denVideo and got very happy with the community feedback, when the SoC came I couldn't believe that i would have the opportunity to join Joomla among so many great projects... Wow, I'm in! Now lets dive into codes, JMultimedia, the "EXTREMAL MEDIA PORTAL SOLUTION" for joomla! its main goal is to simplify the creation of videoblogs and Streaming sites like youtube. JMultimedia uses DenVideo plugin to automatically detect and display videos from many Steaming sites, in many media formats, and can be easily extended and customized. Users can add videos from any supported server (like brightcove) just by inserting videos the URL, JMultimedia automatically detects in runtime how to display it. Files from supported types can also be uploaded to the local server (using Joomla upload function), and they will be stored on the default media folder. Administrators can also select what media formats and streaming server will be accepted and who can comment and add and view videos. JMultimedia Features Are: - Administrators can:
- Create, Edit and Remove media categories.
- Customize user permissions for each media category.
- Add, Edit and Remove new media items.
- Read reviews and remove the unwanted ones.
- Users can:
- List media items: from selected category, top rated, newest...
- Search for media items.
- Use media: watch videos, listen musics, play games...
- Add media from remote streaming servers ( by URL ).
- Upload medias from his local pc.
- Review items: comments and rating.
- Supports everything that denVideo supports:
- Streaming sites: youtube.com, video.google.com, video.yahoo, brightcove.tv.
- Media types: .SWF (Flash Applications), .FLV (Flash Videos), .CLASS (Java Applet), .MOV & .MP4 (Quicktime), .RM & .RAM (Real Media).
