Another quick update. UPDATE: Task Completion I have secured developer status for the MySpace and Orkut developer sandboxes, free to tweak and experiment with the OpenSocial API to my heart's content, and I fully plan on delving into that ASAP. Furthermore, I have set up a meeting time with Chalet to dive into his Facebook development in gross detail. That is scheduled for tomorrow evening - his Wednesday morning - whenever he signs on to Skype. Thank you again, Chalet! :) OTHER In the meantime, I have a question for the community that I'd like some feedback on, regarding the previous revision of my project's goals. I am looking to allow OpenSocial applications to run within any Joomla!-powered website, and have it communicate two ways with the social networking site with which it is registered originally. My question, though, is this: What sort of applications would site administrators be looking to port from a social networking site to their own domain? What applications would be pertinent and useful both in a social networking setting and on a specific website? I can think of a few - like a calendar or events tracker - but more ideas from the community would be fantastic. Tasks: Implement the test OpenSocial gadgets within the live social networking settings; continue investigating the Joomla! core, preferably with the help of Joomla! experts such as the one and only Amy; discuss the changing project plan with Amy Next Post: A more defined and streamlined project plan.
