Summary

Have a site where the homepage is same as Frontpage menuitem.
On that page only featured articles are displayed.
If I click one of the featured articles in the frontpage (homepage), then the categories
are displayed in the breadcrumbs.
The problem is that I do not want the categories to show up in the breadcrumbs.
Ideally I want the breadcrumbs to look exactly the same as if I had clicked the same article in the
menuitem it belongs.
Example:
I visit this URL:http://www.monsanto.no/index.php/en/environment/gmo/gmo-news
Then click the article titled:
Dr. Thierry Vrain GMO whistleblower
Then the breadcrumbs look like this (new line added by me):
Frontpage
Environment
GMO
GMO news
Dr. Thierry Vrain GMO whistleblower
Now, if I go to the frontpage:http://www.monsanto.no/index.php/en/
and then click the same article from the frontpage (a featured article):
Dr. Thierry Vrain GMO whistleblower
then the breadcrumbs look like this (new line added by me):
Frontpage
English
Environment
GMO (Genetically Modfied Organism)
GMO news
Dr. Thierry Vrain GMO whistleblower
In the last example, the items in the breadcrumbs are categories and not menuitems:
These are categories:
English
Environment
GMO (Genetically Modfied Organism)
GMO news
Is it possible to set up joomla so if I click the same article on the frontpage, then that article is displayed where it belongs (or where I want it), namely exactly same way as it is displayed as if it where clicked in my first example.
In other words: If I click the article:
Dr. Thierry Vrain GMO whistleblower
on the frontpage (a featured article):
then I want the menuitem "GMO news" to be active and the breadcrumbs exactly the same as if article was clicked when it is listed in the "GMO news" (ref. menuitem on the right).
I do not want any categories to be displayed in the URL, or in the breadcrumbs.
When clicking an article from frontpage, then categories show up in the URL.
How do I get rid of the categories in both the URL and the breadcrumbs when clicking on a featured article?
Below is an example of how the URLs are displayed for the same article:
First example is when clicked from frontpage (featured):http://www.monsanto.no/index.php/en/frontpage/84-english/environment/gmo-genetically-modfied-organism/gmo-news/216-dr-thierry-vrain-gmo-whistleblower
Second example is same article, but now accessed from the list of articles displayed when clicked on the menuitem "GMO news":http://www.monsanto.no/index.php/en/environment/gmo/gmo-news/216-dr-thierry-vrain-gmo-whistleblower
As you can see, both URLS point to same article, but the first add categories to the URL (and the breadcrumbs), which I do not want.
I do not know if this is behaviour is a bug or not.
But it is definitely a feature I want. It completely messes up the functionality of my website (when clicking an article from the frontpage - a featured article on that page that is).

The last two lines in my original post should be:

"I do not know if this is behaviour is a bug or not. But it is definitely NOT a feature I want. It completely messes up the functionality of my website (when clicking an article from the frontpage - a featured article on that page that is)."

AND:
I also notice that these ugly looking URLs, URLs containing links to categories, links I DO NOT WANT google or any other search engine to index, now are beeing indexed because these URLs exist in my Featured articles on my frontpage. Not good, and really really need a solution to this.

Hope anyone can help me out here.
