Description

Inheritance in module assignment.  If a module is determined to include inheritance, as sub-menu items are created within a parent menu item, that module will automatically appear on those pages.

Added Value / Benefits
  • If a new menu item is created without this feature, frequently modules ‘disappear’ on newly added menu items, because they are unaware of the dependency of assigning the new sub-menu items to the specific modules.
  • Currently, when a user adds a new submenu item, they must go to the Modules area, find all modules that display in that menu, and manually assign them to the new menu item.
  • This can also be tedious if you have multiple modules on a page. When a sub-menu item is created, it is necessary to determine which modules should appear, then manually assign each one to the new menu item.
  • Speed up maintenance of a Joomla website when adding menu items.
Beyond Current Scope
  • Should not change the position assignment
  • It should only apply to submenus within the menu item that is defined with inheritance
  • If Inheritance is NOT selected, then I can manually select the menu items for it to appear or not appear on. Current functionality.
Requirements/Dependencies
  • Coder
  • Accessibility Tester
  • Maintainer
  • Product Tester
USPs
