During the Production Leadership Team Summit meetings, which took place over two days (July 27-28, 2011), the following topics for the project were discussed:
- Release Strategy
- Review of the new time-based release schedule
- Versioning scheme for upcoming releases
- Improving communication to end users and 3rd party developers
- PLT Organization
- Setting up permissions to systems/websites for new members
- Roles
- Providing Team autonomy
- Ensuring backup individuals are available for key roles
- Coordination
- Improving coordination by having regular meetings with PLT and community thought leaders
- Communication within and outside PLT
- Coordination between Platform and CMS teams.
- Platform vs. CMS
- Testing, Documentation, Communication
- Migrating CMS Subversion repository to Github
- Would allow for easier patching between CMS and Platform
- Roadmap
- Upcoming LTS Vision (January 2012 release)
- Next LTS Vision (July 2013 release)
- Emphasis that the features described in an LTS vision are not tied to a single release (features completed in time for an STS release will be implemented at that time)
- Communication of the vision and upcoming roadmap to end users and 3rd party developers
- Developer Recruitment
- How can we increase the number of developers contributing to the project?
- How to deal with sponsorship?
- Form working groups for common CMS areas or for new features.
- Initiate a continuous program that allows volunteers to complete tasks for the project and earn prizes (t-shirts, books, etc.)
