Joomla 3.7 RC1

The Joomla! Project is pleased to announce the availability of Joomla! CMS 3.7 Release Candidate 1. Community members are asked to download and install the package in order to provide quality assurance for the forthcoming 3.7 release.

Joomla 3.7 Beta 4

After a longer time frame than expected, we are nearly back on track with the Beta4 release. Some recent events took more time. One of these was the removal of the router feature, you can get more information here.

Joomla 3 series end of support

In a few weeks, Joomla! 3.7 will be released. We have also finalised our roadmap for the remainder of the 3.x series and have marked Joomla! 3.9 as the final release of the series.

Joomla router

Some weeks ago we published the information that we are looking into the router code. Since then we have checked with a team of developers the code for the new router. The initial reason was an issue about it not responding to invalid URLs with the 404. Here we would like to share the reasons why we have came to the conclusion to remove the new router from the 3.7 release.

Joomla Coding Standards

The Joomla! Project is pleased to announce that we are (finally) ready to release an alpha version of the Joomla! Coding Standards which is compatible with PHP_CodeSniffer 2.x. In preparation for this release, we will be making some structural changes to our coding standards repository which may affect developers using this repository.
